On Wednesday, January 14th, from 16.00-18.00, AmCham members and guests kicked-off the year with an e-focused event at the e-Estonia Showroom gathering over 40 participants while also taking a look at the Activity Plan of events for 2015!
Members and guests also learned more about the e-Estonia strategy, e-Residence, and creating a country without borders from Siret Schutting, e-Estonia Showroom’s General Manager. With personal examples and in-depth explanations, Siret captured the most important aspects of Estonia’s e-services.
The event concluded with a Q&A from Estonia’s CIO, Taavi Kotka. He answered questions, comments, and concerns from the audience regarding e-Residency. He discussed similar ideas to those on his blog, for example, “The development of the appropriate infrastructure and the range of services require the coordination and stimulation of the public and private sectors. The aim is to make Estonia great: make sure that at least 10 million people around the world choose to associate with Estonia via e-identities” (Excerpt from taavikotka.wordpress.com). Attendees also enjoyed networking while sampling pastries and coffee provided by MyChef.
A special thank you goes to the e-Estonia Showroom, for offering their space and making our event successful! We also extend our gratitude to MyChef, for providing a lovely spread of food and drinks! Thank you and we look forward to seeing everyone at our next event!
