On January 10, AmCham Estonia opened the year with a very successful AccessUSA event that was held cooperation with Lift99 and gathered over 100 participants! The event was devoted to the topic of “Creating a Perfect Pitch Deck” and featured such speakers as Alex Sergiwa, Innovation Scout and VC Consultant from G51 (Boston) and Markko Karu, the CDO of Funderbeam.
If you’re raising money for your business, having an impressive pitch deck is a key component. A great pitch deck gets potential investors excited about your idea and product and engages them in a conversation about your business which hopefully in the end will lead to an investment.
Alex gave an overview of how a perfect pitch deck should look like, what are the most common mistakes and what should be the ideal structure of the presentation.
Complimenting Alex’ presenation, Markko Karu, the Chief Design Officer for Funderbea, talked about the power of graphic design, the psychological factors and some essential basics for creating a perfect visual. His key advice was to stay focused and be clear with your message. “Simplicity is key!”
Both presentations were followed by a workshop during which all the participants had a chance to review 2 existing pitch decks from the audience, ask questions and give constructive feedback.
