On September 28, AmCham Estonia Healthcare Committee in cooperation with the European Commission representation in Estonia held the Annual Healthcare Innovation Conference.
This year’s conference featured the local policy-makers, MEP, as well as experts from other European countries (UK and LT). Access to innovation and healthcare financing sustainability are common topics in Europe. We are all facing the same problems. At the conference, we got to hear about the experiences in the UK and Lithuania that can improve the access to innovation.
We thank the Minister of Health and Labor Peep Peterson and the Chairman of the EHIF (Tervisekassa) Rain Laane for their leadership and readiness to tackle these difficult questions. It is important to recognize that there is room for improvement when it comes to access to innovation in Estonian healthcare and better health means stepping up the happiness index as well as improving GDP.
AmCham Estonia and its Healthcare Committee are ready to continue partnership and collaboration with all the stakeholders to improve the access of Estonian patients to innovative medicines and devices. We are looking forward to the discussions.
