On the morning of May 2 AmCham members and partners gathered for a very special speaker breakfast devoted to the topics of cyber security, undoubtedly extremely relevant in the age of evolving digital single market. We were delighted to welcome our keynote speakers Alexander Botting and Vincent Vocci, representatives from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce (Washington, DC), who were visiting Tallinn for 1 day as part of their European Cybersecurity Trip. They started the day with this breakfast meeting with AmCham members to share their position, views and objectives when it comes to Cyber Security cooperation.
The main topic of the discussion was the NIS Directive Transposition underlining the importance of the united approach to the universal threats, as well as importance of keeping the framework a living document, making sure it remains up-to-date in our rapidly-evolving age of digitalization. The presentation was followed with an active Q&A discussion, revealing some surprising nuances in the Estonian legislation to our guests, exhibiting Estonia amongst the leaders on cybersecurity in Europe and NATO.
