In January 2022, the former chairwoman of the AmCham Digital Society Committee Pirjo Jha, Vaimo, who has been leading the newly establish committee (derived from the AmCham IPR Committee) for the past 1,5 years has handed over the leadership position to another committee member – Kristian Riber, Government Affairs & Public Policy Manager, Google
The position transition has been announced at the first committee meeting of the year on February 15, 2022. Kristian has taken on this challenge with enthusiasm and energy and looks forward to actively taking the committee further while engaging more companies into the committee, raising relevant topics through chamber events and round-table meetings and updating the committee’s position paper to include everyone’s input and ideas.
Kristian has over 10 years of experience working in government affairs, public policy and regulatory environment and he holds a Master of Science in Political Science from the University of Copenhagen. Kristian joined Google in 2017, having previously worked as a consultant and in the Folketing, the Danish Parliament. Kristian is currently leading Google’s government affairs and public policy activities in Estonia and at the same time acts as a coordinator for several digital economy-related workstreams of the company’s government affairs team in Northern Europe.
“AmCham is a great partner and an important voice in Estonia on all matters relating to digital affairs and new technologies. I’m very excited about this new opportunity to contribute to AmCham’s activities and my priority will be to work in close collaboration with other members. While those new technologies helped us to keep up our work remotely over the past two years, I’m very keen to soon meet everyone in-person in Tallinn and discuss our next challenges and opportunities.“– says Kristian.
